Dan McDwyer graduated from the RNCM in 2016 and is now an established Musical Director, arranger and vocal coach. He currently holds the position of Musical Director of several choirs including Manchester Proud Chorus, Altrincham Show Choir and Northenden Community Choir. Dan has worked as Musical Director for some of Manchesters most prestigious events, creating safe spaces for absolutely anyone to use their voice in a positive way.

Dan has worked with and produced choir arrangements for artists including Ariana Grande, Katherine Jenkins, Emeli Sandè, Lulu, Kerry Ellis, The script and many more. He has conducted choirs at most major stadiums and arenas across the UK, leading choirs for the rugby league World Cup and also previously working with choirs for Disney+, Royal Variety Show, Blue Peter, BBC Children in Need, Songs of Praise, ITV Carols at Christmas and C5’s ‘Jane and Friends’. He has worked on several musical theatre shows as musical director including Phantom of the Opera, Hairspray, Cabaret, Witches of Eastwick and West Side Story in both London and Manchester.

In 2018 Dan set up Manchester Mental Health choir which is run voluntary, they rehearse weekly at Bridgewater hall, set out to support anyone suffering from mental health problems through music and song. the choir have featured on ITV Carols at Christmas, sang at Wembley for the community shield and also performed at the prestigious Royal Variety Show with Emeli Sandè. Dan also recently set up a similar voluntary run youth choir ‘Manchester Contemporary Youth Choir’ set out to nurture talent and look after well being and mental health providing exciting opportunities for young people, the choir have already been featured on Sunday Morning Live and BBC Breakfast for there positive use of music to inspire.

2018 Also became the birth of 'The Choir Project', aiming to bring communities together through song, giving everyone the opportunity to sing with confidence, meet new people and improve well-being. The first choir set up in Northenden has attracted over 200 keen singers since starting, averaging a weekly turn out of around 120 singers. Due to his choir work and exciting projects Dan has appeared on BBC, ITV, Sky and Channel 4 National news, as well has appearing frequently as a guest on BBC Radio Manchester and is extremely passionate about the positive effects of singing in a choir.

Dan was also musical director for Parrswood Harmony choir, which performed his arrangement of 'My Everything' with Ariana Grande at the One Love Manchester concert after a video of the choir was used on ITV national news and went viral. In response to the aftermath of the attack at Manchester arena in 2017, A year later Dan was asked by Manchester City council to be be Musical Director for Manchester together 'with one voice'. Dan helped produce the evening and arrange all music for the year anniversary event, bringing together a mass choir of 4000 singer from across over 100 choirs which was broadcast nationally on TV and Radio. This year the same team created ‘Together in One Voice’ with MIF to promote wellbeing during lockdown, brining people together through song and featured artists including Liam Gallagher, Tom walker and Take that’s Mark Owen.
